The Sense of Justice and Political Will

Its been a while since I have watched the news on tv. But watching it makes my stomach lurch due to the sense of embarassment the Philippine Justice and Political system is in. In a sense, the verdict on the Erap's plunder case was good enough and the sentence enough for a former president. Imagine, you are at your own house waiting for the end of the days with all the luxury and comfort one could imagine. But why grant him pardon? Or give in to his ubsurd wishes of returning all the wealth that he have gained thru illegal means so why bother pleasing a man who was wrong? Isn't wrong? Or the current goverment due to new scandals that erupted in and about is trying to please the masses? Or is there another hidden agenda altogether now? It is really fascinating on how the Philippine goverment acts.
